    Open to ALL RSFWF Members

February 27th, 10AM to 11:30AM, The Village Church Fellowship Hall, Room B

Come and hear the Grant Committee's Proposal results and comments leading up to the site visit sign ups.

Site Visits are open to all interested members--a great way to learn about the organizations being considered this year.  Many of our members consider these three weeks in March to be the best of all RSFWF events.  Site visits groupings are small and personal--- a great way to meet other RSFWF members and make new friends.

John Rowe, an award winning, world-renowned photographer and philanthropist, was our speaker for this meeting.  John gave a slideshow presentation of outstanding photographs from his ten years of travel throughout the world.  In the course of those travels, he became focused on the beauty of the primitive tribes of the Omo River Valley in Ethiopia.  Although he had intended to publish his photographs at the end of his travels, his life experience among the Omo tribes convinced him instead to use his photos to raise awareness of the plight of these people and, with the help of a local tribesman, Lale Labuko, to fund and maintain a shelter for the Mingi (cursed) infants of the tribes. See the Ranch Santa Fe Review article by Gillian Gillies for details and pictures of this great program.

Multiply Your Gift of Time Or Money!

Matching Gift and Volunteer Incentive Programs

Your contribution to the RSF Women’s Fund may have potential to be multiplied. Many local and national companies will "match" the charitable contributions of their current and retired employees. Many companies match dollar to dollar. Some companies double the amount given by their employee.  Also, many local and national companies will make a contribution based on the number of volunteer hours you do.

Read more at the above link, including a list of Employers willing to "match" charitable contributions.

The Annual Membership Meeting last night was a tremendous success. The power of collaboration produced both a lively presentation of fashion know-how by the lovely founders of The Fashion Code and a successful drive for suits and financial support (100 suits and $825) for Dress for Success. Our savvy members successfully answered fashion questions and Ann Reed won the “Killer Shoes” competition with fur-lined spike heels, all the rage this year!
